ESD SUPERVISION

Supervising Support Organizations

Practical guidance on permission, governance, employer support, monitoring, audits and worker protection under Employment for Skill Development.

Permission and governance

An organization must satisfy statutory independence, staffing, financial, compliance and worker-protection requirements. Directors, officers, external auditors, consultation staff and field personnel should have documented roles and conflict controls.

Operating cycle

  1. Screen the accepting employer and proposed work.
  2. Support preparation of the development plan.
  3. Explain employment and program conditions to the worker.
  4. Conduct visits, interviews, monitoring and audits on schedule.
  5. Correct violations and report serious matters when required.
  6. Support a workplace transfer when legal conditions are met.
